What we collect
Information you give us
- Inquiries: your name, email, phone number, the type of project or event, date, time, venue, budget, how you heard about us, and anything you write in your message.
- Bookings and agreements: the details in your agreement and questionnaire, and your electronic signature. When you sign, we record the date and time, your IP address, and your browser and device type, so the signature can be verified later.
- Payments: card payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. We keep a record of what was paid and when. If you pay by Zelle or PayPal, we receive the payment notification by email and match it to your booking.
Information collected automatically
- IP address: used briefly to block spam and repeated form submissions. Our web host also keeps standard server logs.
- Referral cookie: if you arrive through a client's referral link, we set one cookie (
ss_ref) for 90 days so we can thank the person who referred you. - Analytics: we use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. It doesn't use cookies and doesn't track you across other websites.
We don't run advertising trackers, and we don't sell your information.
How we use it
- To reply to your inquiry, send quotes, and check availability
- To prepare agreements, schedule your shoot, and deliver your photos and videos
- To take payments, send receipts, and keep business and tax records
- To credit referrals
- To keep the site secure and understand which pages are useful
Who we share it with
Only the service providers we need to run the business, and only for that purpose:
- Web hosting: HostGator hosts this site and stores form submissions and booking records.
- Email: Google (Gmail / Google Workspace) sends and stores our email.
- Payments: Stripe processes card payments under its own privacy policy.
- AI tools: we sometimes use Anthropic's Claude to turn a booking message into a draft booking form. We review everything before it's saved or sent.
- Analytics: Cloudflare, as described above.
We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights in a dispute about a booking.
Third-party content on our pages
- YouTube: our work videos are hosted on YouTube. When you play one, YouTube may set cookies under Google's privacy policy.
- Fonts: our fonts load from Google Fonts and Adobe Fonts, which receive your IP address when the page loads.
- Retailer links: if you click a product link in our guides, the retailer (for example, Amazon) may set cookies to credit the referral. See our disclosures.
- Images: some product photos in our guides load from Wikimedia Commons and Flickr.
How long we keep it
We keep inquiries that don't turn into bookings for up to two years, then delete them. We keep booking, agreement, and payment records for as long as we need them for taxes, accounting, and legal purposes, generally seven years.
Your choices
You can ask us to show you the information we have about you, correct it, or delete it. Email info@silversteinstudios.com. We'll respond within 30 days. We may need to keep some records, like signed agreements and payment history, where the law requires it.
California residents have these rights under California law, and we won't treat you differently for using them. We don't sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Because we don't track visitors across websites, browser “Do Not Track” signals don't change how this site behaves.
Children
This site isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. For events and sessions that include children, a parent or guardian gives us the details we need.
Security
The site uses HTTPS, our booking tools are password protected, and only our team can see client records. No system is perfectly secure, so please don't send sensitive information, like card numbers, by email.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
